University iPad Apps for students

1) Dictionary.com (Free)

Dictionary.com is a free dictionary app with over 1 million words and includes a thesaurus. There is no need to be connected to the internet as this app makes Dictionary.com available offline. WIFI or 3G connections will allow you access additional features included phonetic and audio pronunciation.

2) Evernote (Free)

Evernote helps you organize your busy life with notes and a to-do-list. It’s also a great note-taking software to replace your paper notebooks when paired with the Apple Keyboard Dock. 3) Flash My Brain (.99)

Flash My Brain offers a natural interface for studying, creating, and sharing text and photo flash cards. Customizable shuffling and Leitner memorization lets you study with your own learning style. Get new cards or share your own at the Flash My Brain online library, already with 100,000s of user-made flashcards, with subjects from taxes to Tibetan to times tables.

4) iAnnotate PDF (.99)

iAnnotate PDF Allows you to read and comment on PDFs. While it won’t replace text books, it comes surprisingly close. Your comments and edits fully integrate into the PDF. What this means is you can send the PDF to friends and they will be able to read your comments with any PDF reader such as Acrobat, and without having to own a copy of iAnnotate. 5) Pages (.99)

Those who do not need to make presentations or manipulate databases do not need to spend to purchase the iWork suite. Apple makes Pages available for just .99 to edit essays and documents. Pages makes it easy to format your document. Style text, insert tabs, and set indents and margins with the streamlined style ruler. Use the Media Browser to add photos and videos from your Photos app. You can export your work to MAC, Microsoft Word, PDF and other popular document formats. Pages include gorgeous Apple themes with an easy to use interface.

6) Numbers (.99)

Numbers is the equivalent for Excel in the Apple iWorks Suite. It allows you to edit and create spreadsheets on the go. Numbers allows you to create spreadsheets, formulas, graphs, analyze data and much more. Numbers for iPad is fully compatible with Microsoft Excel as well as Numbers ’09 for MAC.

7) Instapaper Pro (.99)

With Instapaper Pro, you can save all the articles and webpages you come across online, or through academic search portals, for later use. It’s very useful as you now don’t have to worry about WIFI or cellular 3G connection to work and study.

8) Rate My Professor (Free)

Rate My Professor is a free app that allows you to see reviews on current and future professors. It’s a great tool to have just before deciding what classes to take next term.

9) iSource MLA (.99)

iSource does all hardwork of creating a bibliography for you when writing your papers and research projects. iSource follows MLA format while also includes citation methods for writing books as well as TV and Film Scripts and Magazines.

10) 8,500+ Drink & Cocktail Recipes (Free)

This app is pretty self explanatory.

11) Dragon Dictation (Free)

Dragon is the world leader in transcriber software. There Naturally Speaking software is the standard in voice-to-text applications and is the engine behind the iPad Dragon Diction app. Depending on how fast you speak; dictating can be five times faster than typing. Since the iPad comes without a physical keyboard, using this software is even more important to increased productivity as it fully integrates into other iPad apps.

12) Craigsearch Pro 1.0

Whether you are looking for an apartment, part-time job, or looking to furnish your place on a budget, search craigslist with this great iPad app.
