iPhone Basics: Getting Accustomed with Web Browsing and Online Form Filling

Posted by: Robert Allen , February 15, 2011

The Apple iPhone has been a tech-geek’s dream gadget and a great source of income for the iPhone application developer. From a user’s point of view the iPhone has re-defined mobile internet experience like no other gadget. However, some newbie’s have some problems surfing the web and filling online forms via iPhone. Here are some tips to get used to the iPhone interface:
iPhone’s Web Browser:
The default web browser of iPhone is the Safari. It is one of the best browsers that offer smooth browsing experience to users. Launching Safari manually is extremely easy; users will just have to navigate to the Home screen and tap the Safari button at the screen’s bottom. The browser gets launched in the form of a blank screen.
How to type in the URL?
Once the Safari is launched, you need to key in the URL to access a website. To do this, just tap in the address bar located at the top of the screen and up pops a virtual touch keyboard. You can then type the URL using the keyboard. After you have keyed in the address, you can tap the Go icon to open a site.
How to Navigate a Web Page in iPhone?
iPhone has a very nice touch screen. Most designers create web applications keeping in mind the touch interface and that’s why companies outsource iPhone application development for web-based projects to offshore developers.
For users, navigating an iPhone web page through a web application is very easy. To scroll down or flick the page, you have to use your fingers. To zoom in, just double-tap the page and get read texts with ease.
Filling Online Forms:
While browsing through web pages, you will be requested to fill online forms for information purposes. While filling forms, tap in initial field on a page. This will open the keyboard. You can then fill in the required fields one by one in this fashion.
An iPhone website development company ensures that all the web applications are developed to suit user’s requirements and comforts as well as be compatible with the iPhone interface.

I am the webmaster at www.synapse.co.in – a outsource iPhone application development company in India offering numerous services, such as flash web development, flash scripting, customized applications for the iPhone, and website maintenance services.
