Iphone Support The Third Generation Like UMTS And HSDPA 3.6 Networks

Posted by: Robert Allen , February 23, 2011

Most of the people buy an iphone only because it has Internet connectivity. You can access internet to connect local area available with the iphone. You can connect to Wi-Fi or a wide area GSM or EDGE network, in both second-generation 2G wireless data standards. The 3G iphone support the third- generation like UMTS and HSDPA 3.6 networks. It does not support the HUSPA networks. Only the 3GS iphones support the HUSPA 7.2 networks. 3G was introduce in July 2004 by AT & T. but in late 2007 it was seen that it was not known well in US and the chipsets not capable enough, to be included in the iPhone. Which support 802.1X a confirmation system commonly used by university and corporate? The Wi-Fi networks were added in the 2.0 version update. When you will try to connect the phone Wi-Fi network it will ask you for a password. Otherwise, you can join close Wi-Fi networks manually.

The iPhone will certainly choose the strongest network, connecting to Wi-Fi in the place of EDGE when it is available. In the same way, the iPhone 3G and 3GS choose 3G to 2G and Wi-Fi also. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 3G can all be deactivated personally. There is an Airplane Mode which disables all wireless connections at once. The 3G iphone has an utmost download rate of 1.4 Mbps in the United States. Moreover, files downloaded over cellular networks must be smaller than 10 MB. Bigger files, often email attachments or pod casts, must be downloaded over Wi-Fi. It has no size limits file. If Wi-Fi is occupied, one workaround is to open the files directly in Safari.

A Safari is the iPhone’s local web browser, which displays pages similar to its Mac and Windows counterparts. Web pages can be viewed in portrait or landscape mode and supports automatic zoom by spreading apart fingertips on the screen, or by double-clicking text or images. The iPhone supports do not Flash or Java. There is a maps application which can access Google Maps in map, satellite, or hybrid form. It can also show directions between two locations and also traffic information. Through the iPhone’s announcement, Jobs demonstrated this feature by searching for close by Starbucks locations and then placing a prank call to one with a single click. It also support for public transit, walking directions and street view.

This software was added in the version 2.2. But there is no voice-guided map-reading. The 3GS iPhone can adjust the map with its digital compass. Apple has also developed a separate application to view You Tube videos on the iPhone, which streams videos after programming them using the H.264 codec. You can also view simple weather and stock information in the iphone. The iPhone users can access Internet regularly, and in any place. According to Google, the iPhone gives 50 times more search requests than any other mobile handset. The normal Internet usage for an iPhone customer is more than 100 megabytes. It is found that 88% use the internet and 98% of iPhone users use data services.
