There are rumors that the device being offered by Verizon is a CDMA device.  The main issue with this is simultaneous data and communication use.  Right now, verizon phones do not have the ability to use the data network and phone at the same time.  This makes it difficuly to look things up on the internet while on hold or to simply use the google maps feature on the device.
