Is it at all safe to unlock the iPhone? ? Think Twice before you do it

Posted by: Robert Allen , December 29, 2010

Apple keeps on improving the iPhone by adding new features and applications. But, it has its own restrictions on running third party applications and carriers. However, just like any other gadget, even the iPhone can be unlocked or hacked. An unlocked iPhone allows users to run third party applications, which, in turn benefits several third party iPhone open application development companies.
The iPhone opened new doors for budding and expert iPhone mobile application development companies. These companies create new applications with the help of the SDK, send the applications for approval, and then distribute the products to the App Store to sell them. However, iPhone does not allow users to run all third party applications. It also has many restrictions on network carriers. This has forced many users to hack or unlock the phone for using it on any carrier or add any third party applications to it. But, the million dollar question is: Is unlocking iPhone safe?
There are estimates that around 20 percent of iPhones sold are being unlocked. Users hack iPhones to break it free from any network restrictions. However, most experts claim that jailbreaking iPhone can invite many risks, including attracting a virus and malware and permanently damaging the gadget. There are many online and offline solutions available for unlocking the iPhone, but some malicious software may lure new users to unlock the phone, and load dangerous viruses into it.
Although, there are many online tutorials available for hacking the iPhone, users are always advised to take caution while unlocking it. The best way is to learn from other’s mistakes, and follow the instructions of iPhone applications development experts closely before attempting to do anything.
There are many one-button or two-button programs available online that simplify the process of unlocking iPhone. But, it is always recommended not to unlock this gadget, because once it gets unlocked and damaged, Apple won’t provide any repairing service to it. Think twice before you try to unlock the iPhone.
