Need A Mobile Color Consultation On Your Iphone?

Posted by: Robert Allen , February 26, 2011

Are you always looking to try to understand which colors are the most compatible with each other? Are you forever trying to figure out why some colors go together better than others do? Do you always ask why the colors you have in mind are simply not compatible with each other? Apparently this is nothing new so someone decided that they were going to create an iphone app that directly addresses this concern and helps those that do not understand color compatibility that well. This app is called Palette.able and is something that many people have found to be useful and interesting.

One of the things that you need to take into account with this iPhone app as well as all others is that it does not take into account your personal preferences or the fact that you might see a particular shade of red or another color differently than the computer does and than others do. What this app actually does do is compare two different colors to each other and tells you why those two colors are or are not compatible with each other. This app tells you the compatibility level as a percentage that ranges from 0 to 100 percent.

The good thing here is that Palette.able will give you an explanation as to why two colors are compatible as well as why they are not compatible. Bear in mind that this iPhone app does not take personal taste or preferences into account when calculating the compatibility of two colors. All it works with are the commonly known color combinations and the common color wheel to make its determinations.

This means that some of your favorite color combinations such Buttercup Yellow and Mocha and Slate Grey with say Lime Green might not be recognized as compatible by this iPhone app. You just need to deal with this and recognize that there are going to be shortcomings in any program like this that do not take certain factors into account for whatever reasons. The fact that there is an app like this is likely to be of good help to those that want to know more about color compatibility.
